We are excited to announce our first ever Trunk or Treat Event, taking place Saturday, October 29th from 4:30pm-6:30pm in the Cascade Ridge Parking Lot.

WHAT EXACTLY IS TRUNK OR TREAT?

Trunk or Treat is a fun way to bring Cascade Ridge families together as a community to celebrate Halloween. During the event, families park in the Cascade Ridge Parking Lot and decorate their trunks (more info on trunk sign up below). Children “trick or treat” by going from car trunk to car trunk collecting candy and other non-candy treats.

All Cascade Ridge students & their families are welcome to “trunk or treat!” Costumes are encouraged, but not required. This is a family event. All CRE students must be accompanied by an adult during the event. Younger siblings are welcome to trick or treat.

I’D LOVE TO DECORATE MY TRUNK! WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

Yay! You can participate by signing up to decorate a trunk & hand out candy here: Sign up for a Trunk

Families/Adults that elect to decorate a trunk and hand out treats must stay on site for the duration of the event for the safety of our children and families. You will be given a load in time one hour prior to the event start to decorate your trunk and clean up will commence promptly at 6:30pm, with load out happening shortly thereafter. Candy and non candy treats will be provided by the PTSA and handed out before our trunk-or-treaters walk around.

TRUNK DECORATION GUIDELINES

The easiest way to to come up with an idea for your trunk is to think of a cohesive theme! Think of it like dressing your trunk in a costume. 😄 You can go all out or keep it simple. There will be a contest and prizes given out! Pinterest is a great resource for ideas.

There will be young children in attendance for this event, so please bear that in mind. Please nothing overly spooky or gory.

You are welcome to play appropriate music, but there will be no access to electricity available.

TREAT DONATIONS

We will be running a candy/treat drive in the weeks prior to the event. You can “feed” our monster that will be located at the front of the school. All candy must be in an unopened bag. Examples of non candy treats are stickers, mini play doh containers, Halloween favors (spider rings, bubbles, necklaces, notebooks, pencils, etc- Target has a ton!), etc.

WILL THERE BE FOOD ON-SITE?

Paparepas Venezuelan Food Truck will be there serving up arepas, tequenos, empanadas & more! Please bring cash/card to purchase food & drinks.

TRUNK PRIZE & COSTUME GUIDELINES

There will be a prize given for “Best Trunk,” as decided by our Trunk-or-Treaters. Everyone will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite trunk at the PTSA area.

Please keep in mind that this is an all-ages event, so please make sure your costume is not too scary, gory or inappropriate for our youngest attendees.

HOW WILL THE EVENT RUN?

Vehicle load-in can start at 3:30pm and must be complete by 4pm to ensure the safety of our event participants and volunteers.

At 4:30pm, we will open for trunk-or-treating.

All children will be given a ticket upon arrival to vote on their favorite trunk.

Contest winners will be announced shortly after 6pm and “trunk or treating” will end promptly at 6:30pm.
